here's the deal:
everybody has got their panties in a twist about Barbie.
either her boobs are too big, or her face is too pretty, or WHATEVER. i just read a blog that talks about how a polition from West Virginia wants to put a ban on Barbies beause they make little girls think you don't have to be smart as long as you're pretty.
this is total bull.
if Barbie was sending the "it's okay to be dumb" message, then why would we have:
TEACHER BARBIE!

DOCTOR BARBIE!

VETERINARIAN BARBIE!

CEO BARBIE!

Barbie encourages girls to go to college:

She also encourages young girls to aspire to greatness, and to make enough money to live in a lavish house

Barbie encourages girls to live out their dreams, whatever they might be.

In conclusion.
How could anyone say Barbie says "it's okay to be dumb" if she had to go through all those years of schooling to be in those fine careers!?! not to mention, i don't ever recall a little girl saying to me or anyone else, it's okay if i don't know very much, at least i'm pretty! little girls just like to play with dolls, they like to make barbie go to a party with her friends, they like to make barbie go on a date with Ken, and never do they give off the impression that under the smile and make up, all there is, is hair.
but need i remind you of the alternative?
